Equipment.

Yes, l know, boasting about one’s equipment can be boorish in the extreme. Even so, some people need to know this sort of thing. For the record, all my digital photos to date have been taken using  Nikon and Sony equipment.

Photo Manipulation.

Throughout the history of photography, different ways have been employed to manipulate photographs. The reasons for this have been equally diverse. Some people have just wanted to make a picture look nicer while others have sought to change reality and present a lie to the public. Digital photography, with its associated computer software packages, has given everyone the chance to create virtually any image they want. There is great deception in many of the images presented to us today. To me, this is not what makes a good photograph. The good photograph is there at the moment it is taken. It cannot be created afterwards. I do not manipulate my photographs. What you see is what the camera sees. l do have a few filters which l use from time to time, but, and l stress this, l have not used any post-production techniques to enhance a particular photograph. But, in favour of the software users, l am experimenting with colouring and shading and may produce some prints using these techniques. The results may be considered “art” but will not be considered as photographs.
